VULD
Visual Ultrasonic Leak Detector
Product Description
The Visual Ultrasonic Leak Detector (VULD) works by detecting the specific sounds that pressurized gas leaks emit. This unit has 124 ultrasound microphones placed in strategic locations that detect the sound of leaks and reconstruct the position of those sounds onto the camera for the user to precisely locate the potential leaks.
The VULD hand-held ultrasound imaging camera is capable of accurately locating gas leaks from several feet making leak detection in high or low hard to reach places easier. The VULD can create images and videos with the click of a button, which can be assembled in reports using the units reporting software.
Benefits & Applications
Classical gas detectors and detection methods require the operator to thoroughly check every potential leak point. With ultrasonic imaging, the detection can be performed by simply scanning the potential leak points.
The inspection is done several feet away, reducing the need for scaffolding and reducing exposure to the pressurized system.
We can uncover leaks in unexpected locations because sound propagates beyond our line of sight.
Hidden leaks that are missed with other techniques can be detected with ultrasonic imaging.
Designed for use within potentially explosive atmospheres for the oil and gas, chemical and power plant industry.
Can be used while a facility is in operation to check for leaks and during a shut down for other leak testing.
Intrinsically safe, and non-intrinsically safe models available.
Can quantify the leak rate in liters per hours, cubic feet per minute or in decibels.
The unit works with any/all types of gases. Has a range of 1 to 300 feet of leak detection capability.
