Extended Reach Drilling (ERD)

3-Day Course

The intended audience is:

  • Drilling, Workovers & Intervention Engineers

  • Operations Personnel

  • Technical Personnel Involved with Planning & Executing Well Operations

This 3-day course delivers an advanced technical foundation in Extended Reach Drilling. This course is designed for drilling engineers and well planners tackling the complex challenges of high displacement wellbore construction.

Core topics include torque and drag modeling, trajectory optimization, hydraulics, ECD management, drill string mechanics and friction reduction technologies, alongside cementing challenges, and wellbore stability.

Participants will develop the analytical skills and practical knowledge needed to plan, evaluate, and execute ERD wells safely and efficiently. Software instruction can also be incorporated upon request.
