Due to various project engineering and construction delays on the Noble Energy Leviathan project, GATE was tasked with compressing seven months of onshore commissioning into only three months. GATE was able to quickly increase resources and personnel to mitigate a schedule impact and Leviathan topside left the fabrication yard one hundred percent commissioning complete for onshore scope. This greatly reduced the amount of potential offshore carry-over work and facilitated a successful offshore campaign to deliver the facility for initial start-up on time.

Anadarko employed a “design one, build two” philosophy in development of these new-build, greenfield facilities. Though the Lucius project was a success in its own right, the extensive implementation of project lessons learned and carry-over of personnel led to GATE safely and successfully delivering the Heidelberg project three months ahead of schedule and significantly under budget.
